Band Bio Blue Jay Slim & The Tone Blasters is a blues trio consisting of Blue Jay Slim on Lead Guitar, Slide Guidar and Vocals, Kenny Githens on Fender Bass & Backing Vocals and Bob Ridge on Drums. Formed in the summer of 2012, members Blue Jay Slim and Kenny Githens started the Tone Blasters as a side project from their previous band and haven't turned back since. Adding Bob Ridge on drums they play a blend of traditional blues, contemporary blues rock and their own style of original blues. Influenced by a variety of artists both past and present, Blue Jay Slim and The Tone Blasters are a band you shouldn't miss. In the short time that they've been together they have had the pleasure of opening up for country rock legends The Outlaws at the Levoy Theater in Millville, NJ and Savoy Brown and then Marcia Ball both at The Sellersville Theater in Sellersville PA. They've also have played several festivals including The South Street Head House Spring Festival in Philadelphia, The Olde Kings Jazz Festival in Swedesboro, NJ (twice) The Bucks County Fall Fling for The Bucks County Blues Society and the Grand Opening of the Willow Creek Winery in Cape May, NJ with special guest Georgie "The Blacksmith" Bonds. Most recently on Saturday November 23rd 2013 the band was inducted from Delaware into the "Blues Hall Of Fame". With the ceremony taking place at Delaware's premier blues room The Blue Parrot Bar & Grille in Wilmington, DE this capped off an exciting year for Blue Jay Slim & The Tone Blasters. This year they started out playing some shows in Mexico including the 36th Annual Mexican Chili Cook-Off.
Blue Jay Slim & The Tone Blasters will be releasing their latest CD in the near future and it will feature 12 new original songs.
